What Top Researchers List is
Top Researchers List was DATAMETA LAB's original search tool for the Top 2% Scientists list. It does one thing: you type a researcher's surname and first name, and it tells you whether, and where, they appear in the single-year ranking.
The single-year ranking measures the citations a researcher received in one calendar year. It rewards recent, current impact, which is why early- and mid-career researchers often appear in it before they appear in the career-long ranking.
As the data grew to cover more editions and both rankings, the full search moved to TOPSCINET, which keeps every year on one profile and adds verified claims, certificates and analytics. Top Researchers List stays online as a lightweight alternative for people who just want a quick single-year check, and it points to TOPSCINET for everything else.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Top Researchers List and TOPSCINET?
Top Researchers List searches the single-year ranking only. TOPSCINET covers both the single-year and career-long rankings for every edition, and adds verified profiles, certificates and analytics.
I can't find myself here. Am I not on the list?
You may be in the career-long ranking instead, which this site does not search. Check TOPSCINET, which covers both. Also make sure you search by surname first.
